Hi, thanks for stopping over and reading my
blog!
I'm from a small town here in Iowa, and besides being
busy as being a high school student and everything that comes with that, I'm
also a runner and I love it so much.
I started running because I just couldn't find a sport I
was ever good at. I tried basketball and I was way too short and small. I tried
softball, but I'm a wimp and I was scared of the BALL. You name it- I tried it
all. I knew I had to be good at something. I remember coming home every single
night crying my eyes out because I wasn't good enough- I've always been the type
of girl to always have the desire to succeed and get better.
It was the first day of track practice in 7th grade and
we headed out for two laps around the track in the pouring rain, I can remember
it plain as day. Two laps, I thought to myself? I thought I was going to die. But, I kept going and I got everyone. I felt so proud of
myself and that was a big turning point into what I decided to do as in a sport
and what I truly will love to do forever. I'm only in High School and I know
sometimes people's intrests changes, but I don't think mine will. I love running
for all that it is worth, and my love for running is a lot.
I kept running. And running and running some more. Now
in high school, I am a primary distance runner. I'll sprint for ya', but it
won't be that great. I have big dreams though and I want to keep improving each
and every year as I go on. I have two years left. I want to be the best I can
be. That is why I created this blog- to keep my inspiration up, share my miles
and all the memories that come with those miles. It seems like I ALWAYS have a
story to tell about my run for the day or a race I raced. Each and every time
it's unique and I love that about running. And quite frankly, my family and
coaches probably don't want to hear me telling them every single day
about something that happened. Right mom, : ) So I can tell YOU about
all the deets, right?!
I trust in God with my plans for running and I thank him
for giving me the talent and so much more in life. I am truly blessed and I
always look to this quote: "Trust in the Lord with all of your plans, and they
will succeed." -Proverbs 16:3
Besides running my butt off, I am a major health nut, a
gardener, a photographer, a biker, a hiker, a baker, reader, and a singer! I
have the most amazing family and the bestest friends a girl could ask for. I
love my life!
