Goals

Cross Country Goals:
-------------------------
1. Negative Splits.
2. Break my record and improve each year.
3. Come across the finish line feeling like I could of gave NO more.
4. Get into the 5:30s pace towards the end of the race.
5. Go with someone when they are passing me and challenge myself--back to number 3!
6. To not be afraid of people who are better than me- they will make me BETTER if I challenge myself to stick with them.
7. Embrace the feeling of being a runner.
8. Don't be scared or nervous- just do it!

Track Goals:
--------------------------
1. ALL of the goals above that have to do with Cross Country^
2. Get my 3000s down in the 10's. I just want to NOT see 11s anymore!
 3. Get my 1500 down in the 4's. Just like my 3000 I don't want to see 5's anymore!
4. Don't be scared of pain.
5. Be proud of what I do no matter what the results are.

Road Racing Goals:
---------------------------
1. All of the goals above that have to deal with Cross Country.
2. To break Exira's Road Run 10K's record
3. To break my Dam to Dam Record and run a 1:25 (20K)
4. Run a half-marathon and a marathon later in my life!
5. 5K down to a 18:00!
6. To not be scared of pain- know that these races give you super morale to keep training- the better you do and more you push the happier you will be with yourself.
7. Rock it and be proud!

Overall Goals as Being a Runner:
-------------------------------------
1. Know when to say "no"- as in, if you're so busy and stressed out with your life and running is becoming just another chore, know you're too busy. Running should be relieving not a chore. Being too busy and trying to impress everyone isn't quite your business!
2. Know when enough is enough. Encourage yourself that those 5 miles were enough today and no matter who you read about running a million miles a day, know that you can't do that. 5 miles are enough- you are enough. you have enough. you do enough. Know that doing more and more and more won't make you better it could make you get injured.
3. Know the better you eat, the better you feel. Ice cream is delicious, but running faster is better. Save the ice cream for once a week, like on your rest day so you feel you have rest and a treat! (I guess that is what works for me)
4. Know that challenging your body or doing a faster workout that is hard and wants to make you curse God--know that it's God's way of making you a better runner. Keep pushing!
5. Know that being perfect at everything else in your life won't give you a next PR. You can't expect to come home from a 20 miler and expect to clean the whole house and get everything in perfect order (I know a lot of people don't have issues with this, but I do) and relaxing and giving your body rest and the nutrients it needs, you can be the better runner you want!
